Arak Farm Visit
On Sunday, November 17th, the Saudi AgriFood Tech Alliance team visited the Al-Arak Farm, owned by a recently joined member of the Alliance, located in the Thuwal region of Saudi Arabia. During the exploratory tour, led by the farm owner, Mr. Khader Al-Ghamdi, the team learned more about the farm’s operations and the various advantages of cultivating the Arak tree from multiple perspectives.
The farm’s concept revolves around using seawater directly for irrigating Arak trees, significantly simplifying the farming process and reducing reliance on freshwater resources. The farm currently houses over 4,000 seedlings that are adaptable and transferable to different regions within the Kingdom. Mr. Khader Al-Ghamdi had previously implemented a similar project in Yanbu Industrial City in collaboration with Saudi Aramco.
